Lubaga Hospital has announced the passing of Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya, the Member of Parliament for Kawempe North.Hon. Ssegirinya passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 12:10 PM, following a period of medical care at the facility.
Despite the dedicated efforts of Lubaga Hospital’s medical team, his condition did not improve, and the nation now mourns the loss of a passionate and committed leader.
In an official statement, the hospital extended its condolences to the Parliament of Uganda, the Speaker, the Deputy Speaker, his colleagues in Parliament, his family, and the people of Kawempe North, whom he represented with unwavering dedication.
“We join the nation in mourning a dedicated servant of the people.
May his soul rest in eternal peace,” read the hospital’s message. Hon. Ssegirinya was known for his strong advocacy for his constituents and his active role in legislative matters.
His death marks a significant loss for both his community and the country.
