A wave of shock has swept through Kacerere village in Ntungamo District after a man was found dead under mysterious circumstances. Reports allege the man collapsed following a prolonged three-hour romp with a woman now identified as the prime suspect. Moments later, she vanished without a trace, leaving behind a storm of unanswered questions and growing unease in the community.
The disturbing incident unfolded on Sunday, June 15, at around 2:30 PM, inside the residence of a woman known only as Kellen, in Nyarwanya, Rubaare Town Council. The deceased, identified solely by his trade as a lumberman, reportedly died while at Kellen’s home. What followed was a swift and unexplained disappearance, triggering alarm throughout the quiet community.
The first to raise the alarm was local vice chairperson Deus Byamugisha, whose call for help initially went unanswered. As minutes stretched into hours without a police response, area councilor Coleb Rweguuta – acting LC III chairperson for Rubaare Sub-county – stepped in, demanding immediate action. It was only then that detectives from Rubaare Police Station arrived to cordon off the scene and retrieve the body.
The remains were transported to Itojo Hospital for a postmortem, as residents gathered in hushed groups, trading theories and whispers about what could have transpired behind closed doors.
To date, police have not issued an official statement, and Kellen remains on the run. Her sudden disappearance has sent ripples of fear and curiosity through the community. For many, the silence from authorities is as unsettling as the incident itself.
As the manhunt intensifies, police are appealing to the public for any information on Kellen’s whereabouts. With the case now under active investigation, questions abound: What really happened that afternoon? Why did Kellen flee? And what secrets lie behind the locked doors of that house?
What began as a quiet Sunday in Kacerere has now become the center of a growing mystery. The community wants answers – and justice.
